AeroShell Oils 65, 80, 100 and 120
AeroShell (straight mineral) Oils are available in four different
viscosity grades (SAE 30, 40, 50 and 60). They are blended from
selected high viscosity index base stocks and contain a minimum
quantity of additives. These oils are especially appropriate during
the break-in period of most new or recently overhauled four-stroke
aircraft piston engines.
AeroShell Oils W65, W80, W100 and W120
AeroShell 'W' (ashless dispersant) Oils were the first aviation
piston engine lubricants to be formulated with non-metallic
dispersant additives. They provide exceptional lubricant performance
and avoid the build up of metallic ash residues on critical engine
components. These oils are intended for use in a wide range of
four-stroke aircraft piston engines, including fuel injected and
turbocharged variants.
AeroShell Oil W100 Plus
AeroShell Oil W100 Plus is a new single grade oil that
combines proven AeroShell ashless dispersant technology with
advanced antiwear additives. It is the oil for pilots who want a
single grade that delivers extra protection and performance.
AeroShell Oil W100 Plus brings together the best qualities of two of
the world's best-selling four cycle aviation oils. It has the single
grade, ashless dispersant performance found in AeroShell W100 and
the anti-wear/anti-corrosion additives of AeroShell Oil W 15 - W50
Multigrade. It's single grade heritage means outstanding resistance
to heat, especially in the summer months.
Its ashless dispersant formulation reduces deposits of harmful
metallic ash in combustion chambers. And its advanced additives work
against rust, corrosion and wear in a way no other single grade
does. There simply is no better single grade aviation oil.
AeroShell Oil W 15 W 50
Aeroshell Oil W 15 W 50 is a premium semi-synthetic

AeroShell Sport Plus 4 The only Aviation engine oil specifically developed for Light Sport Aircraft Click for More / Click to hide |
We have put all of our 100 years experience in aviation lubricants and engines into AeroShell Oil Sport Plus 4. Our lubricant research specialists, working in Shell laboratories, both in Europe and the USA, have worked closely with major engine manufacturers to produce the world’s first specifically developed engine oil for light sport and very light/ultralight aircraft 4-stroke engines.
In The Past
Historically - operators of these types of engines have had to rely on commercially available motorcycle oils. This may lead to issues, such as formulation changes that follow the needs of the motorcycle market. These formulation changes can be made without notification to the aviation community, because motorcycle oils are not required to meet the same specification as aviation oils. Motorcycle oils also tend to have limited ability when dealing with leaded fuels used in aviation – Avgas 100LL.
Innovation
By working with the major engine manufacturers, Shell Aviation is proud to announce the latest addition to the AeroShell family – Sport Plus 4. For the first time, across the world, aviators will be able to obtain a true aviation oil specifically suited for light sport and very light/ ultralight aircraft 4-stroke engines.
4-Stroke Engines – Why Is The Oil Important?
Because most 4-stroke engines now come with integrated gearbox and overload clutch systems, the same oil is in contact with all the moving parts, so it must be capable of coping with the engine, overload clutch and gearbox simultaneously.
AeroShell Oil Sport Plus 4 is ideal; as it is extremely resistant to the immense sheer forces that occur in areas of high-pressure contact such as high-speed gearboxes, valve trains, bearings, pistons and liners. This is where the blend of base oil and additives is most crucial.
AeroShell Oil Sport Plus 4 is made up of a blend incorporating synthetic technology and high performance additives to provide long lasting protection.
In addition, detergents in the oil keep important areas, such as the pistons and cylinders, clear of carbon based particles that tend to adhere to these surfaces.
So when you change your oil to new AeroShell Oil Sport Plus 4, you are not only removing dirt from your engine, you are also replenishing the additives used to protect your engine during normal operation.
AeroShell Oil Sport PLUS 4 - At A Glance
Multigrade oil designed to be used in any climate, anywhere in the world.
Additive technology, which perfectly suits the requirements of integrated gearbox and overload clutches (ROTAX® 912 & 914 Series).
High thermal stability for longer-lasting and safer lubrication.
High evaporative stability to lower engine oil consumption.
Better cold flow characteristics for easier starts and quicker protection.
Advanced anti–corrosion and anti-wear additive package. These additives work as a protective barrier to prevent critical parts from being slowly degraded by corrosion or wear, especially when an aircraft is used infrequently. This protection is crucial for critical internal parts, especially during engine start, reducing the likelihood of premature damage and helping engines reach TBO.
Powerful anti-oxidancy action to protect and clean parts for longer periods of time.
Strong dispersants to prevent build up of sludge and varnish.
Specially selected base oils incorporating synthetic technology to help prevent sludge problems when operating with leaded fuels. This also provides excellent sheer stability.
